Mockingbird

During my second stay in the Caucasus region in 2016, I worked collaboratively with the Artists Till Wittwer and Deirdre O'Leary. We follow the story of the Georgian policeman called Beso, from Shida Kartien province, who describes his encounter with a mockingbird. It was commonplace to trap young mockingbirds and pierce their tongues, forcing them to re-learn their means of communication and imitate human language.
